The AeonVox Philosophy of Communication
Communication: the imparting or interchange of thoughts, opinions, or information by speech, writing, or signs.
Whether a website functions as an online store, a discussion forum, an inventory database, a blog, a gallery, or has any variety of other purposes, it always boils down to one basic principle: the site is trying to communicate something to the visitor. In the end, the world wide web is nothing but a collection of information organized into a readable format. Or...at least we hope that it’s been organized into a readable format.
Back in the early days of the world-wide web, building a website required only a basic knowledge of HTML and the ability to transfer a file to a server. It was a simple process and the web was a simple place. If you wanted to have a website for your business, you could hire the kid down the street and for a couple bucks he’d give you everything you needed (which, back then, was just a very plain page with a picture or two on it). Times have changed.
Today, the web is rich with content. Pictures, music, movies, slideshows, and other media dominate many sites. Others contain rich, interactive applications that help visitors (and site-owners) to perform any number of operations. Today we share, purchase, manage, organize, and collaborate on the web. It has become an integral part of our daily lives.
As the capabilities of the web have expanded, so has the complexity of presenting those capabilities to visitors. The days of having the kid down the street build a professional website for a couple bucks are gone forever. Some businesses have tried to perpetuate the concept by looking overseas for cheap labor, but that’s exactly what they got--cheap labor. In today’s internet environment, a professional and capable website needs professional and capable programmers.
At AeonVox, we believe that it takes even more. In a world where anything is possible, too many are attempting to do everything at once. Many businesses--even large ones--have become lost in the jungle of adding as many features as possible to a website just because they can. Many modern websites are crowded with information, capabilities, and options, but lack that most important of features: effective communication. Without effective communication, all of the information and capability in the world is useless.
It is our belief that the design of a website should not begin with a list of desired features, but rather with a list of desired goals. From that starting-point, we will utilize every technology available to help you achieve those goals in the most effective, user-friendly, result-oriented way possible. Your site will not just be built with bleeding-edge technology and features, it will be built with bleeding-edge technology and features that work to help you achieve your goals. Anything less is simply unacceptable.
